The device (6) evacuates to generate underpressure in the buffer container (17) or creates underpressure in it so that, with the valve (5) in the line (17) to the waste-producing unit (1) open, the waste is sucked into the buffer container (17). With the valve (20) in the compressed air feed line (15) open and the valve (5) in the line (7) to the waste-producing unit (1) closed, the waste sucked into the buffer container (17) is discharged into the collection tank (9).
