<p>The luminaire includes a spherical body (3) with an orifice for access to a lamp (10) situated inside, the aforementioned orifice being able to be closed by a moving protective shutter (2). According to the invention, means are provided for the shutter to be retracted by a rotational movement (arrow B) inside the body and to push it elastically from the inside of the body against a seat constituted by the periphery of the aforementioned orifice. These means consist, for example, of a support (5, 6, 8, 9, 14) fitted with a rotating joint (5, 8) and telescopic legs (6) with springs.
