PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a strong magnet with the grains of the magnetic domain sufficiently sintered by passing a metal vapor of specified composition through a divergent nozzle to cool it by adiabatic expansion, forming and sintering the obtained fine alloy powder in a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:An alloy material 30 consisting of the rare-earth element selected from Pr, Nd, Gd, Tb, La, Ce, Lu, Y, Dy, Ho and Er, and Fe and Co are charged into the metal vapor generating chamber 22 of a crucible 20. The vaporized mixed vapor 30A is introduced into a superfine powder collecting chamber 28 through a conduit 26 having a divergent nozzle 24. The mixed vapor 30A is quenched by adiabatic expansion in passing the nozzle 24 and collected on a collecting tray 34 as the superfine powder of the magnetic alloy. The superfine powder is supplied to a mixing zone 14, and superfine B powder 54 is added and agitated. The obtained mixed fine powder 60 is sent to a zone 16, compacted, heated to a specified temp. and sintered. |
