The subject of the present invention is new hexane compounds and their use in organic synthesis. These compounds are characterised in that they correspond to the following general formula (II): <IMAGE> in which X'2, X'3 and X'4 (which correspond one to one to X2, X3 and X4 or X1, X2 and X3 of the formula I), which are alike or different, represent a halogen or a pseudohalogen, preferably a halogen, advantageously chlorine and fluorine, with the condition that when R1 is hydroxyl, cyano, amido, imido, ethoxy, benzyloxy, cyclohexyl and tert-butyl, all the halogens cannot be simultaneously chlorine and R4, R3 and R5 simultaneously equal to H; in which R1 represents a hydrogen, a hydrocarbon chain such as, for example, an alkyl chain, an aromatic chain or an alkoxy, carbonyl, carboxyl or acyloxy, indeed hydroxyl, group; in which R4 represents a hydrogen, a fluorine atom, a hydrocarbon chain such as, for example, an alkyl chain, an aromatic chain or a carbonyl, carboxyl or carboxamide group or else a radical bonded to the hexane ring by a chalcogen or by an element from column V, preferably from the first period, such as an amido, alkoxy or acyloxy group; in which the R3 and R5 radicals, which are different or preferably alike, represent a fluorine, or preferably hydrogen, atom or also hydrocarbon chains such as defined above for R4.
