Macromolecular solns. esp. solns. of protein molecules, are concentrated to a defined final volume within the microlitre range and the affinity constant of substances on proteins is determined in a concn. space with a vertical filter plate. The concentrate is collected in a sectionof this space which is screened from the filter. An adjustable pressure is maintained in the solution for a continuous filtration, resulting in a flow of the concentrated macromolecular constituents towards the concentrate concentrate space.
