The body-suppport, partic. a bed mattress, backrest etc., is of polyurethane foam. The middle portion is stiffened for part of its length, to support the user's spinal column and relieve it of load. There can be two channel-type spaces, symmetrically situated in relation to the lengthwise centre line, and in which stiffening bodies are inserted. The recesses can diverge from the back area in the direction of the buttocks, while extending for the full length of the spinal column. The stiffening bodies can be round or polygonal-section plastic bars or tubes. ADVANTAGE - Simplicity of mfr., and fully relieves spinal column of whether lying or sitting. |
