A housing incorporates a number of elements for filtration of process water used in mfg. operations or power stations. The novelty is that a short pipe provides the reverse flushing pressure to each filter element. The pipe is connected with each filter element in turn and the filter core is positioned outside the fluid within the housing during the flushing process. The filter cake to be removed is dried by an external jet of compressed air and lifted from the filter surface by the reverse flow of compressed air through the filter. The filter cake thus removed is collected in the reverse flow chamber and disposed before the filter is subjected to a final cleaning. The filter elements are removed from their normal operational positions and cleaned in turn. USE/ADVANTAGE - The filter cleans process water used in manufacture of power stations. Filter cake is removed in a dried form with minimal loss of process water. Disposal of dried filter cake is straightforward. Only a small vol. of reverse flush water is required.
