PURPOSE: To obtain an oral contraceptive prescription comprising daily administrative units with each unit containing 70-80μg desogestrel, 3-ketodesogestrel or mixture thereof. CONSTITUTION: This oral contraceptive prescription to be administered throughout the menstrual cycle (e.g. for 28 days) enables effective ovulation inhibition while maintaining allowable menstrual cycle regulation by selecting desogestrel or 3-ketodesogestrel at the above dose levels, also enabling intermenstrual hemorrhage to be avoided. Furthermore, this prescription prevents development of continuous ovarian cystoma. |
