PURPOSE:To obtain a neutron detector of a high neutron detecting sensitivity and high responsiveness and suitable for real-time photographing with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION:A neutron detector is made up by integrally combining a scintillator 1 which emits scintillation rays in accordance with the intensity of incident neutrons with a semiconductor photodetecting element for converting incident rays emitted from the scintillator 1 into an electric signal. The scintillator 1 is made up of a sintered body in which Ga as a neutron absorbing element and at least one kind of element selected out of Pr, Tb, and Eu as an activator are included.
