PURPOSE:To obtain the optical signal transmitter which has high reliability and performs high-speed operation while suppressing the cost as to an optical signal transmitter which is used for the information transfer, etc., of an optical LAN or in a computer. CONSTITUTION:This optical signal transmitter has a light emitting element which outputs carrier light for carrying information, plural terminal devices 401-40n, light receiving elements 301-30n which are connected to the respective terminal devices and convert light signals into electric signals, optical modulating elements 200-20n which are connected to the terminal devices as well and have electric field absorption effect for transmitting light when an electric field is applied and absorbing transmitted light when the electric field is applied, and light signal transmission lines 500-500n which make the carrier light outputted by the light emitting elements incident on the light receiving elements and optical modulating elements of the respective terminal devices and transmit the carrier light; and the terminal devices read and receive the signals modulated into the carrier light by the light receiving elements and the transmissivity of the optical modulating elements is controlled to modulate the carrier light and send the signals. |
