Automatically wound bobbin test - checks yarn end and bobbin shape and weight in sequence

The appts. to check a wound bobbin, covering the zone (2) for working the yarn end, applies suction air to the bobbin (P) surface while the bobbin carrier plate (5) supporting the bobbin (P) is on its path of travel and rotates it. The test zone (3) has a number of optical monitors (33, 34, 35, 38) to check the shape of the wound bobbin (P) in a dark chamber (31), followed by scales (4) connected to a weight measurement system (43). The stages are assembled in a row, for the bobbins to pass through in succession. ADVANTAGE - The appts. checks the weight, shape and yarn end zone of bobbins from an automatic winder, where the entry of lint is blocked into the housing. The bobbins are assessed with a constant accuracy. The system can also discriminate between a faulty horizontal bobbin surface and the adjacent side surface where there would be no unwinding proble.
