A system (1) for oil recovery and suspended solids removal from and treatment of palm oil mill and related refinery raw sludge wherein said system (1) comprises at least a holding tank (50) to receive said palm oil mill and related refinery raw sludge, at least a concentration tank (20) to receive said palm oil mill and related refinery raw sludge from said holding tank (50) and with the content within said concentrated tank (20) remain heated, an ORS (10) to conduct cross-flow filtration of said palm oil mill and related refinery raw sludge with said ORS (10) connected to said concentration tank (20) to form a closed loop if necessary and with said palm oil mill and related refinery raw sludge from said concentration tank (20) fed to said ORS (10) for cross-flow filtration and slurry, one of the products of said filtration, circulated back to said concentration tank (20) till slurry within said concentration tank (20) has reached a predetermined concentration level, a three phase centrifugal decanter (30) connected to said concentration tank (20) to receive concentrated slurry for treatment from said concentration tank (20) and with the end products being decanter cake which is solid and can be discarded, decanter heavy phase which is returned to said holding tank (50) and decanter light phase and an oil recovery apparatus (40) connected to said three phase centrifugal decanter (30) to receive said decanter light phase with the end products after treatment in said oil recovery apparatus (40) being a layer of oil at the top which is the recovered oil and is transferred to the common crude palm oil tank, a layer of under flow at the bottom with residual oil with said under flow transferred back to the holding tank (50) for recycle.
