The under-surface receptacle for the accommodation and fixing of modular (6) electrical equipment comprises a circular carpet-protection frame (1) with a metallic box insert of generally rectangular shape. An access opening (2) permits equipment trays to be aligned parallel to each other and with corners (3) extending to the internal periphery of the carpet frame (1). The central tray (5) is extended to accommodate a fourfold modular (6) dimension as opposed to the threefold construction of the other trays, and the whole assembly is adjustable for height via the fixing devices (4). ADVANTAGE - Provides additional modular accommodation within same overall dimensions of circular frame. Retains convenient circular form of hole during preparation of receiving surface.
