The method for mfg. a cathode body comprises mixing PbO- B2O3-BaO frit glass powder with ZnO, Al2O3, SiO2 and an adhesive, molding the mixt. to obtain a cathode support (4), first firing the support (4) at about 370 deg.C, laying a cathode sleeve (3) and a heater support (5) into the support (4), interposing the layed support into the case (2) to obtain a cathode body (1), and second firing the cathode body at 400-450 deg.C. The adhesive is composed of normalbutyl and nitrocellulose. The cathode body prevents a crack in the cathode support.
