Transparent multicomponent systems for pharmaceutical use comprise one or more active ingredients in a system comprising an oil component, a surfactant and a cosurfactant. The surfactant is a nonionic surfactant with an HLB above 8 or an amphoteric surfactant. The cosurfactant is a partial ester and/or ether of a polyhydric alcohol with a 6-22C fatty acid and/or fatty alcohol and is liq. at temps. below 40 deg.C. The cosurfactant may also serve as oil component, or the oil component may serve as cosurfactant when the oil component is oleyl alcohol and/or a polar ester of a 2-4C monohydric alcohol with an 8-18C fatty acid. The components are present in amts. such that they form a stable, liq., single-phase system which dissolves the active ingredient(s) at room temp.
