PURPOSE:To improve the function of a battery, in particular, charging/ discharging cycle function, life, and withstand voltage characteristic under high temperature, by adding at least one oxide material chosen among Al2O3, BaO, and MgO, to an electrolytic solution. CONSTITUTION:For a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, for which a carbon material into and out of which lithium is doped, as a negative electrode 2, or a carbon material that can be doped out is used therefore, for which lithium and cobalt or a complex oxide of nickel and cobalt is used as a primary active material of a positive electrode 3, and for which LiPF6, LiBF4 are used as an electrolyte for dissolving into an electrolytic solution, at least one oxide material among Al2O3, BaO, MgO is added to the electrolytic solution. The acid freed from the electrolyte is adsorbed thereby, and is removed. Disolution or degradation of the electrolytic solution is suppressed under high temperature or high pressure, in which case free acid component is easily generated in particular, and the secondary battery is thus used for a long period of time. |
