The headlamp unit has a rear reflector attached to the housing of the headlamp unit at 3 points, (4,5,6), 2 of which are adjusted via a setting device (13), for pivoting the reflector about a horizontal and a vertical axis (11,12). The latter axes intersect at the third point (4) with the actual reflector position indicated by a display (21). Pref. the display (21) has a scale and a cooperating measuring mark and lies along the horizontal pivot axis (11) at a given distance from the vertical axis (12). One part of the display is supported by the housing of the headlamp unit, while the other is adjusted with the reflector.
