PURPOSE: To provide a device to seal and wipe a slidable window by providing a sealing strip control means to move a sealing strip between the position to tightly engage the sealing strip with a window glass and the position to release it, and engaging a wiping element with the window glass while the sealing strip is not tightly engaged with the window glass. CONSTITUTION: A sealing strip control means 36 to selectively move a sealing strip 38 arranged to be tightly engaged with a surface of a window glass 8 between the position to tightly engage the sealing strip with the window glass 8 and the position to release the tight engagement. A wiping element 44 arranged adjacent to a surface of the window glass 8 is engaged to wipe the window glass 8 while the sealing strip 38 is not tightly engaged with the window glass 8. The shape of a hollow chamber 36 of the sealing strip 38 is deformed by changing the pressure of the fluid in a chamber 36, and the sealing strip 38 is moved between the position to tightly engage the sealing strip with the surface of the window glass 8 and the position not to tightly engage the sealing strip. |
