PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of a switching element due to heat and miniaturize the cooling structure, and reduce the cost by reducing the limit value of the input current when the on-off cycle of the switching element is short, and as a result, suppressing the excessive loss in the switching element, in an induction heating cooker used in general homes. CONSTITUTION:This cooker is provided with an input curent detection circuit 4, which detects the input current from an AC power source, an on-off cycle detecting circuit 6, which detects the on-off cycle of the switching element, an input current limiting circuit 7, which limits the input current into the limit value at N stages corresponding to the on-off cycle of the switching element, and a controller 8, which controls the on-off of the switching element so that the input current from the AC power source may be a specified value within the range of the limitation by the input current limiting circuit. |
