PURPOSE:To make compact an ink jet recording device of serial type designed to activate a recording head and an ink tank for scanning and an information processing device using said device. CONSTITUTION:An ink tank is arranged using a scan space in a carriage, and at the same time, the scan speed of a recording head 110 is made different from that of the ink tank 111. In addition, the recording head 110 is allowed to perform a scanning action within a range H while the ink tank 111 is allowed to perform a scanning action within a range of T(<H). Further, the size of an enclosure 100 is made compact with the ink tank being made large in size, so that the ink tank 111 does not protrude into an area outside the enclosure 100. |
