PURPOSE:To improve operating behavior of a trunk lid by a method wherein a spiral spring is used to the operating device of the trunk lid where the whole coil is bent uniformly. CONSTITUTION:A bead is provided over a quarter of the coil spring 10 from its external end used in the operating device of the trunk lid, and by this bead is increased bending rigidity and decreased eccentricity when in motion. This sprial spring is substituted for a torsion bar for the trunk lid which have ever been used. In other words, a slit groove is provided on a shaft in a unitary body with a hinge 1 fixed to a vehicle body, a hook is inserted into the internal end of the spring and is prevented from escaping by a snap ring. Thus, the whole coil turns of the spiral spring are bent uniformly, contact between spring plates is reduced, histerisis as a torque feature is minimized and abnormal sounds due to local contacts are prevented from occurring. |
