PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector, comprising a TPA part extending in the transverse direction and attachable to a connector housing before insertion of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: In an electric connector 10, terminal positioning assurances(TPA) parts arranged in transverse direction are installed, and the parts are inserted in a key groove in the transverse direction of a connector housing in a sliding manner. The TPA parts are provided with a plurality of flexible primary latches and a plurality of corresponding static secondary locks. The flexible primary latches are installed so as to be arranged in a row in a terminal-receiving hollow of the housing, when the TPA parts are kept at prescribed installation positions. Terminals can be inserted into the housing while the TPA parts are kept at prescribed installation positions, and the flexible primary latches hold the terminals at least temporarily in the housing. At the time when all of the terminals are completely inserted, the TPA parts are indexed in the transverse direction toward the final lock position and the static secondary locks are reliably jointed to respective terminals and complete insertion can be thus retained. |
