PURPOSE:To facilitate the description of the processing of document data having hierarchical structure by permitting a processing system itself to switch the processing at every document element with respect to document data to which the nesting of the document element is permitted. CONSTITUTION:A data chunk detection program 41 detecting data chunk, namely, document data of a group consisting of the same document elements is stored in a program memory 4. A specified document element break mark is decided for the break of data chunk. The other document elements can be included in the content of the document element. A processing switching program 42 selects and switches the appropriate processing program from a document element processing program group 44 in accordance with the document element being a present processing object. A processing result character string program 43 generates one character string from a data chunk processing result group 63 and preserves it in a processing result character string 64. |
