PURPOSE:To thin and miniaturize the portable telephone set without superposing the structural arrangement of an internal electric circuit part, and a reading part and a writing part by placing a keyboard in front of a housing, and providing the reading part and/or the writing part on the side face and/or the reverse side. CONSTITUTION:In front of a housing 1, a keyboard 2 is placed. On the right side face of the housing 1, a reading part 3 of a document is provided, and also, on the left side face, a writing part 4 for generating a hard copy is provided. 3a denotes a roller for generating a read-in timing clock. On the upper side face of the housing 1, an antenna 5 is provided, and in front of the housing 1, a microphone 6 for transmission and a loudspeaker for reception are provided. As for a writing part 4, a thermal transfer is available, and a plain paper printer function obtained by combining a laser diode, a liquid crystal shutter and a transfer mechanism can be integrated. The reading part 3 and the writing part 4 are not superposed on an electric circuit part.
