PURPOSE:To remove coverings of insulated wires having different diameters always under a stable state and, further, suppress damages of incident side optical components caused by a reflected light entering reversely. CONSTITUTION:A laser dividing mirror 12 which divides a laser beam into two and can vary the division ratio, converging lenses 15 and 17 which converge respective divided laser beams on the surface of an insulated wire 19 with an angle other than 180 deg. between both the beams and laser photodetectors 20 and 21 on the extensions of light paths of the respective converged laser beams for measuring intensities of the laser beams are provided. The respective laser beams are converged into linear spots by the converging lenses 15 and 17 and the longitudinal directions of the linear spots and the longitudinal direction of the insulated wire are so provided as not to be in parallel with each other. |
