PURPOSE:To accurately eliminate a positional deviation in writing caused by the meandering of a photosensitive body and to obtain an image having no color slippage, in a color image forming device forming a latent image on a belt-like photosensitive body by using an optical writing device using laser light and superimposing a developed toner image on the photosensitive body plural times to obtain a multicolor image. CONSTITUTION:As a characteristic, a photosensitive body position detecting sensor FS1 detecting a position in the main scanning of a photosensitive belt 1 is provided on the back side of the end part of the photosensitive belt 1, the timing of the switching of the ON/OFF of the detecting sensor FS1 is determined through the use of a clock pulse having the N-fold frequencies of a dot clock pulse, and the meandering of the photosensitive belt 1 is detected from this timing, to correct the write timing of image data. |
