PURPOSE:To obtain the subject woven fabric capable of holding airtightness for a long period without causing air leakage from the section and sealing the section with a tape by coating the outer peripheral surface of a woven fabric wound into layers of a roll form with a flexible airtight sheet and sucking a rubber liquid from one of end faces under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:The outer peripheral surface of a woven fabric, composed of natural fiber or synthetic fiber and wound into layers of a roll form is covered with a flexible airtight sheet, e.g. polyethylene or polypropylene. Air is sucked from one of end faces under reduced pressure while rotating the aforementioned woven fabric and a rubber liquid (e.g. natural rubber or synthetic rubber) is pressed from the other end face thereinto and sucked to maintain rotation and decompression until squeezing effects are sufficiently exhibited. Thereby, a rubber phase is densely present in interstices between fibers to afford the objective rubberized woven fabric excellent in airtightness. The resultant woven fabric is suitable as base fabrics for life preservers, boats, etc. |
