PURPOSE:To enhance the cycle life of an organic electrolyte secondary battery without deteriotating characteristics of the battery by making an organic compound act on the surface of a positive electrode active material made from an inorganic compound. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an inorganic compound is chemically decorated with an organic compound. An organic electrolyte secondary battery is comprised of a positive and negative electrodes which use the inorganic compound, and an electrolyte which allows only specific ions to migrate therein. When the surface of the inorganic compound is affected by the organic compound, the organic compound reacts with OH present on the surface of a positive electrode active material and chemical decoration is achieved: Then the wettability of the positive electrode active material to the electrolyte is enhanced whereby changes in the chemical and physical properties of the positive electrode active material are restrained: the cycle life of the secondary battery can be enhanced without deteriorating such battery characteristics as capacities for charge and discharge, the efficiency of charge and discharge, battery voltage and the like. |
