PURPOSE: To obtain an improved method and device capable of increasing the speed of separation by electrophoresis or chromatography. CONSTITUTION: A device usefull for high-speed electrophoresing is an on-column optical gating device with a variable-resistance capillary tube 1200 to perform high-frequency modulation in introducing a sample and different motions are caused by a high-voltage generator 1207. The device is capable of separating molecules with electric charge, i.e., organic complex compounds at high speed, furthermore, effectively. The device is used for multiplexing chromatography and electrophoresis.
