PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of the switching regulator by commonly using a monostable multivibrator for modulating the pulse width or the frequency for step-up and step-down converters. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage is stabilized by applying a DC voltage obtained from an input power source through the step-up converter circuit for producing a stabilized voltage higher than the input voltage via a chopper system having a choke coil 13, a switching element 14 and a capacitor 18 and so forth and the step-down converter circuit for producing a stabilized voltage lower than the input voltage via a chopper system having a switching element 19, a choke coil 20 and a capacitor 22 and so forth and by controlling to simultaneously modulate in pulse width or frequency the switching elements 14 and 19 of the step-up and step-down converter circuits with a signal obtained by comparing and amplifying the DC voltage obtained through the step-up or step-down converter circuit with a reference voltage by an error amplifier 24. |
