PURPOSE:To reduce an encounter with memory fault during the operation with a user's program. CONSTITUTION:To a main storage device 2 composed of several memory boards, a memory board address assigning management program 11 outputs an address range assigned to the respective memory boards corresponding to a request. A used address range management program 12 processes a request for using and releaving memory of user's programs 21 and 22 and manages the used address range and an unused address range. A memory diagnostic program 13 periodically conducts a memory diagnosis for the unused address range and request the used address range management program to add the address range of the memory board containing the address of a fault detected memory to the used address range. |
