The car door-lock guard comprises a cowl (18) whose bottom surface (20, 24) fits closely against the door (14). This encloses a chamber (26) in which the handle (12) and lock (10) are contained, and is detachable and/or swings away from the door. The bottom surface can enclose the periphery, and can be flat or gently curved. At this surface, the cowl can be pear-shaped and wide at the rear end and tapering to the front one. It can be highest at the middle, and at the rear end there can be a stirrup, shaped so as to fit in the door gap or behind its edge. This can have a greater cross-section inside the cowl, working with a stop on the latter to limit outward movement. USE - Prevents icing-up, and is usable with most car doors.
