PURPOSE:To obtain always the uniform impregnation and evenness of a laminate by a method in which multistage impregnating rolls are provided in a laminate conveying direction, and the laminate is pressure treated, while heightening more the linear pressure of said rolls with advancing more downstream in the laminate conveying direction. CONSTITUTION:The laminate made of a reinforcing fiber 2 and resin holding sheets 5, 6 is heated and pressurized in order by the impregnating rolls 9 composed of heating rolls 7 and nip rolls 9 provided in three stages, and moreover is pressure treated, while applying higher linear pressure with advancing more downstream. The reinforcing fiber 2 in a strand shape is expanded in a flat shape gradually in order at every stage by the pressure treatment of these multistage impregnating rolls. The resins kept in the resin holding sheets 5, 6 are transferred into the expanded reinforcing fiber 2 and simultaneously are impregnated into its inside. Consequently, even when the laminate is transported at high speed, or a thick prepreg is treated, the breakage of a single strand does not occur, and the resin impregnation may be evenly and uniformly achieved. |
