PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to discoloration, thermal stability, and processability of the title compsn. by compounding it with a specific metal salt of a polyhydric alcohol maleate. CONSTITUTION:A styrenic resin (e.g. an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer) compsn. contg. a bromin-base flame retardant (e.g. tetrabromobisphenol A) is compounded with at least one metal salt of a polyhydric alcohol maleate of the formula (wherein A is a di-to hexahydric alcohol residue; l is 2-6 and m is 1-6 provided that l equals m multiplied by the valency of M; n is 1-4; and M is Li, Na, K, Cs, Mg, Ca, Zn, Ba, monohydroxyaluminum, or an organotin). |
