PURPOSE:To obtain the optical fiber dispersion compensating device which compensates the waveform deterioration by the frequency dispersion of high- speed signals of several Gb/s or above and is stable with low electric power consumption. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber dispersion compensating device of this invention is the device including a nonlinear optical medium, a pump laser 29 which generates pumping light, a means for injecting input signal light and the pumping light to the nonlinear optical medium and a means for taking out the output signal light which is generated by the process of mixing non- degenerated 4 light waves from the nonlinear optical medium to a frequency conversion. The nonlinear optical medium is a Fabry-Perot type semiconductor laser 10. The frequency of the pumping light and the frequency of the input signal light coincide nearly with one of the respectively different resonance modes of the Fabry-Perot type semiconductor laser 10. |
