<p>PURPOSE:To surely separate and feed sheets one by one even though the width of sheets stacked on a paper feed cassette varies more or less. CONSTITUTION:Separating pawls 3, 5 adapted to abut against the tops of corner parts of the leading end P3 of a sheet P are arranged on a cassette 2. The separating pawls 3, 5 have inclined sides 3a, 5a which obliquely cross the corners of the sheet P, and which can cross the side end edges P1, P2 of the sheet P even having a maximum width. Even though the width of sheets P is not uniform, the side end edges P1, P2 of the sheet never come off outside of the inclined sides 3a, 5a. With this arrangement, when a pair of feed rollers 6 are rotated in the direction of the arrow K1 so as to feed the topmost one of the sheets P in the direction of the arrow K2, the sheets P are surely separated and fed one by one.</p> |
