<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of string-like cavitation on the upstream side of a valve seat, reduce operational noise, and smoothly adjust the flow rate by providing a perforated cage for preventing cavitation due to whirl flow directly on the upstream side of the valve seat of a globe valve. CONSTITUTION:In a globe valve 1 consisting of a partition wall 6, a valve seat 7, a valve plug 8, and a valve body 9, a perforated cage 12 for preventing cavitation is provided directly on the upstream side of the valve seat 7. The perforated cage is composed of a cylindrical body 13 extending close to the inner wall on the upstream side 4 of the valve body 9 fixed to the lower peripheral edge of the ring-shaped valve seat 7, and an end plate 14 provided to the cylindrical body 13 for closing the lower end opening. Further, the cylindrical body 13 is arranged on the same axis as that of the valve plug 8 or the opening 7a of the valve seat 7 and provided with many holes 15 of specified size, and respective holes 15 are open in the radial direction of the cylindrical body 13. Thus, the generation of abrupt ascending flow from just below the valve seat 7 is restricted to transform the flow into a stabilized flow.</p> |
