PURPOSE:To provide an edge light type illuminator which can guide the light from a linear light source to a light guiding plate. CONSTITUTION:The edge light type illuminator consists of the linear light source 1, the light guiding plate 2, a reflecting plate 3, a light cover 4, and a light diffusion plate 5 and is equipped with the light cover 4 having a curved surface which reflects and guides light emitted to the opposite side from the light guide 2 about the center of the linear light source 1 to the light guide plate side so that the light does not strike on the external wall of the linear light source 1 on the opposite side from the light guide plate 2 while it is considered that the linear light source 1 has its source in the center. |
