PURPOSE:To obtain white activated carbon and clear colored activated carbon usable in many fields in which activated carbon is not used because of its black color by coating the surface of activated carbon with titanium dioxide as a white pigment having very high hiding power and carrying out further coating with a colorant. CONSTITUTION:An emulsion contg. titanium dioxide is impregnated into activated carbon to obtain white activated carbon and a colorant is further impregnated into the white activated carbon to obtain colored activated carbon or an emulsion contg. titanium dioxide and a colorant is impregnated into activated carbon to obtain colored activated carbon. The adsorbing property of the base activated carbon as the most important property of activated carbon is not deteriorated and the fingers are not blackened even by contact with the colored activated carbon because of tight coating with the colorant. |
