<p>PURPOSE:To confirm the operating status of a collision detector not from a shock given to the detector by an actual collision but by using an operation check signal from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A mass 6 having an inertial weight is forced in one direction by a compression spring 5. A traveling contact 9 is displaced when the mass 6 moves against the force of the spring 5 due to a collision. The contact 9 is brought into contact with a fixed contact 8 by forcibly moving the mass 6 by applying an electromagnetic attracting force generated when an electromagnetic coil 16 is conducted to the mass 6. Since the same moving status of the mass 6 as that produced when an actual collision occurs is produced by conducting the coil 16, whether this collision detector 1 normally operates or not can be checked even after the detector 1 is mounted on the vehicle.</p> |
