Optical fibre cable insertion in protective sleeve - using drawing piston displaced along inside of protective sleeve by pulsed water stream

The cable insertion is effected by attaching a cable drawing piston (8) directly to the end of the cable (11), or to an intermediate drawing line. The piston is pushed along the inside of the protective sleeve (5) via a pulsed water stream, the cable (11) or drawing line having spaced sleeves (12) acting as further pistons, for continuous feeding in of the optical fibre cable (11). Pref. the pulsed water stream is provided by a displacement pump within a cable insertion head (3) attached to the end of the protective sleeve (5). ADVANTAGE - Prevents any damage to cable during its insertion.
