PURPOSE:To obtain the optimum image at all times by the optical recording device which is used for a laser printer, etc., and uses a laser by automatically correcting the diameter of a beam with which a photosensitive body is irradiated into an allowable range even if respective constituent components shift in relative position because of assembly accuracy or under the influence of ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION:Plural position sensors 9 are provided which detect the positions of a laser light source 1, a collimator lens 3, a 1st image forming lens system 4, a polygon mirror 5, a 2nd image forming lens system 7, and a photosensitive drum (photosensitive body) 8 constituting the optical recorder. The position sensors 9 detect the relative positions of the respective constituent components constituting about the photosensitive drum 8 and this optical recording device is equipped with a control system 10 which adjusts projection light to the optimum intensity according to the detection data by storing a memory with an adjustment level for adjusting the projection light intensity of a laser light source 1 so that the diameter of the beam with which the photosensitive drum 8 is irradiated reaches the optimum size, thereby optimizing the irradiation beam diameter on the photosensitive drum 8. |
