<p>PURPOSE:To detect easily the closing of a smelt spout. CONSTITUTION:A lens or mirror that collects the electromagnetic beams 13 in the visibility range or in the infrared range that are radiated from the smelt 4a is provided above the smelt channel of a smelt spout 2, and the collected electromagnetic beams 17 are, furthermore, received by a detector 15 and by monitoring the variation in the output of said detector 15 it is detected whether or not there is a flow through said smelt. With this arrangement the closing of the smelt spout is easily detected.</p> |
