ABRASIVE DISC ASSEMBLY FOR ROTARY DISC SANDER An abrasive disc assembly for a rotary disc sander, comprising a disc support pad fixedly mounted on the end of a driving spindle pad on the surface of which a replaceable, flexible abrasive disc may be fastened, has the circular pad provided with an inner concentric recess and a plurality of angularly spaced apart grooves which extend from the inner recess to the outer circumference of the pad. The abrasive disc has at least an aperture which projectively superimposes onto the recess of the supporting pad and is compressively retained on the surface of the pad by means of a spider-shaped retaining element which may be fastened to the spindle's end, through a central washer piece from which radially extending arms project, fitting said grooves of the pad and capable of warping and compressing the abrasive disc into the grooves of the pad. The consumable discs may be produced more cheaply without any self-adherent backing layer and dust control is promoted by the radially extending channels defined on the rotary abrading surface.
