<p>PURPOSE:To deal even with the abnormality of the power supply part of e computer system at occurrence of the cut-off of the input power supply that is not expected by an OS. CONSTITUTION:A computer system contains 8 power supply part 4 which inform a power control part of the abnormal state of an input power supply, etc., a battery part 3 which informs the power supply part of the power holding state, end a power control part 2 which informs an OS of the occurrence of a power failure and the cut-off of the power supply. Then both parts 3 and 4 supply the power in parallel with each other to the component elements of the computer system including the part 2. The part 2 monitors the occurrence of the power failure informed from the part 4 and the information on the abnormality of the part 4 and then informs the OS of either one of both monitoring results through a power failure occurrence informing mechanism. If the power holding state informed from the part 3 shows the lower limit level of the electric power necessary for maintenance of the computer system, the cut-off of the power supply is informed to the OS through a power cut-off informing mechanism. Thus, the OS performs continuously the power failure processing until the OS receives the power cut-off information after the power failure information.</p> |
