OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To improve recording characteristics by providing intermediate and underlying layers consisting of high-polymer materials which are thermally deformed or denatured at the temp. lower than the temp. of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 1 consisting of polycarbonate formed with preformat patterns 2 on one surface is formed of a packing molding method and a soln. prepd. by dissolving a cyanine dye material in methanol is applied by spin coating on the pattern 2 surface of the substrate 1, by which a recording layer 3 having 80nm film thickness is formed. The intermediate layer 4 which is imparted with water resistance and heat resistance by applying an aq. soln. of polyvinyl alcohol added with a crosslinking agent by spin coating on the recording layer 3 and irradiating the coating with light to induce a crosslinking reaction is then formed at 40nm film thickness on the recording layer. Polymethyl methacrylate uniformly dispersed with AgCH3CO2 which is an org. silver salt and CH3OH which is a reducing agent is applied by spin coating on the intermediate layer 4 and an extremely slight amt. of a Pd nucleus is formed on this layer and is heated to form a reflection layer 5 having metallic silver luster on the surface of the polymethyl methacrylate layer at 60nm thickness.
