The invention concerns a method for sound presentation for compensating for a deterioration in frequency selectivity in people with hearing difficulties. Frequency selectivity, that is the ability to distinguish sound at different frequencies, is impaired in people with hearing difficulties so that the ability to understand speech in noisy environments is impaired in comparison to people with normal hearing. The invention solves this problem by the sound signal being divided into a number of frequency bands, where certain frequency bands are presented to one ear and certain frequency bands to the other ear. The invention is utilized principally in hearing aid applications. <IMAGE> |
