<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a defective feed, such as a jam, even when a sheet feed stage is varied after a plurality of transfer sheets are delivered from a transfer sheets containing part, such as a tray. CONSTITUTION:A transfer sheet pressure contact release means to release a transfer sheet from pressure contact produced by the roller of a sheet separating feeding part 100 is provided. During movement of a sheet feeding unit 3, the sheet feeding unit 3 is raised to a position, where the upper end of the guide surface of a guide plate 109 is positioned in a level higher than that of the upper surface of the topmost transfer sheet at a tray 4, by means of a control means 120. Thereafter, after a tray at a selected sheet feed stage is moved aside in a home position direction once, the tray is moved to a set position again. The front end of a transfer sheet P about to be delivered from the tray 4 is brought into abutment with a guide plate 109 and the transfer sheet is returned in the tray 4.</p> |
