This invention relates to a window that is opened and closed by rotating a frame with a circular perimeter within w round opening ow a main frame with this circular perimeter frame containing part glass and part open space and rotating it in its own plane relative to similarly shaped glass in a frame that is held stationary in the round opening. It is preferable that the stationary glass also be in a frame with a circular perimeter with this frame held in position. This invention allows round windows to be opened and closed in a practical manner. It also allows opening and closing of windows that have shapes such as quadrangular and octogonal in the closed and fully open positions. The main frames may have round, square or rectangular perimeters. Those that are square or rectangular have a panel within the exterior members of the main frame and the round opening is made in the panel which will be referred to as the "web" of the main frame. Presently, round windows are occasionally seen in houses, churches and commercial buildings. They are oftentimes only a small percentage of the total quantity of windows when they are seen. They are generally installed as fixed windows in such structures and they do not provide for ventilation or emergency exit, and cleaning the exterior can often be difficult. This invention overcomes the disadvantages of fixed round windows and greatly enhanced the marketing opportunities for round windows and the other said shapes. Rectangular windows are not wall shaped for motor operation or the installation of fans for forced ventilation. The round windows of this invention are much more suitable for such mechanization. These additional present further marketing opportunities. The windows of this invention that have main frame with round perimeters have strength requirements for installations on ships where round windows have been common.
