摘要 PURPOSE:To automatically correct the erroneous detection of visual axis to permit the visual axis detection with high accuracy by correcting errors in the detection of the visual axis obtained from a visual axis detecting device by means of a visual axis correcting means. CONSTITUTION:When a photographer peeps into a view finder after making a power supply of a camera and setting the camera to a visual axis input mode, at least a switch of eyepiece switches 34a, 34b and 34c embedded in an eyepiece cap is closed and an infrared luminescent diode 5 for visual axis detection is lit on the basis of a signal from a visual axis calculation process device 9 to start the illumination of the eye of the photographer. Then, if the photographer's visual axis correcting data are not registered on the visual axis calculation process device 9, the correction of the visual axis is started. At the same time as the start of the visual axis correction a timer incorporated in the visual axis calculation process device 9 is operated, and an index for correcting the visual axis in a display region is lit on the basis of a signal from a camera controller.
